Healing, Is That You?
Kintsugi, (Japanese: “golden joinery”) traditional Japanese technique of repairing ceramics with lacquer and a metal powder that is usually made from gold or silver. The centuries-old practice is often used to mend treasured objects by beautifying the cracks, which serve as a visual record of the object's history.

Please do not compare your healing process to that of others. Some days you're going to feel great, and other days you will find yourself balling your eyes out, thinking, "But I thought I was healed!" I wish I could tell you that in a month, two months, or three months, saltwater streams will no longer flow freely down your cheeks, that your energy will no longer be siphoned by your emotions and mental anguish, and that you will feel alive. I want to tell you, but I can't because healing is not linear. I will tell you there will come a day when it won't hurt so much—when the actions of others won't affect you like they used to. If you decide to do therapy, you most likely will learn what activates you and why, and then you'll be given the tools to manage it. But for now and always, you need to give yourself grace, patience, and empathy. You will put yourself back together, just as in the Kintsugi technique of joining the cracked pieces of ceramic with gold. I love that it is the "golden joinery." You will never be the same as you were pre-divorce, but you are still beautiful.
I encourage you to embrace what you're going through because it is part of your story. It will change you in ways that will surprise you. You'll learn more about yourself than you ever have before.
Romans 8:28 says, "We know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose." God doesn't cause horrible things to happen, BUT he will take them and make them into something beautiful. I promise. HE promises
